Solar eclipse: our advice

If you observed the April 8 eclipse and are concerned about your eye health, even if you took precautions to protect your eyes, we remind you that it can be difficult to immediately detect damage to the retina because it does not cause pain and symptoms are not instantaneous.

Effects may manifest hours later, often resulting in blurry, distorted, or darkened vision with a visible black spot in the central field of vision.
