Eyewear Inspiration: Dare to Try Something New!
As we head into 2019, we’d like to share our vision of eyeglasses. Glasses aren’t just important for your eye health and day-to-day comfort, they’re also a great way to express your personality!
Follow our tips below to help you make a crystal clear decision the next time you go shopping for eyewear.
1. Get advice from an optical stylist
To choose the right pair of glasses, you first need to narrow down your options based on your face shape, specific features, and needs. Opto-Réseau’s specially trained optical stylists can help you find the frames that look best on you and match your style and personality. You get personalized service, a custom fit, and frames that are just right for YOU.
2. Step outside your comfort zone
Frames come in hundreds of different styles, with a size, shape, colour, and pattern for every face and every personality. Always been drawn to darker frames? Why not be bold and go transparent?
Since you don’t necessarily get new glasses every year, you may want to choose something different whenever you do. It’s like getting a mini-makeover—and it’s a fun way to change up your look.
3. Explore the latest trends
More than ever, glasses are a fashion accessory you can use to express your unique style. Frames come in all kinds of shapes (rectangular, square, round, or butterfly), materials (metal or acetate), and looks (discreet or prominent). There’s something for everyone. And eyewear trends change all the time. Designers launch new collections every year, rolling out new looks to match the latest fashion trends. Glasses are also a fun way to add a personal touch to an outfit, like you would your shoes, jewelry, or handbag. Dare to try something new—you’ll be glad you did!

4. Consider your specific needs
One important thing to consider when choosing a pair of glasses is how you will be using them. Will you be wearing them every day or just at specific times (at work, in the evening, for sports, during outings, etc.)? Is sun exposure an issue?
Remember that eyeglass technology has come a long way, and that there are now a variety of lens treatments and types to meet your specific needs. For instance, a blue light treatment is best if you work at a computer, and photochromic lenses (which adapt to light) may be useful if you spend a lot of time outside.
Be sure to tell us about your lifestyle and when and where you plan to wear your glasses when you come into a clinic. The optician can use that information to suggest the most suitable frames. You might even want to get more than one pair so you can switch up your frames based on your schedule and mood.
Schedule an appointment with an optometrist for a comprehensive eye exam or drop by one of our clinics to get expert advice from our optical stylists.
