Just like body shape for clothing, the shape of your face determines the right frames for your glasses. Here are some tips to help you pick the perfect frames.
People with round faces like Kirsten Dunst and Cameron Diaz should follow these rules when choosing their frames. To elongate and slim the face, avoid round or oval glasses. Your goal is to create a balance between the shape of your face and the curve of the glasses in order to give your face structure.
You can often recognize a square face by its well-defined features. To soften these traits, choose round glasses that add curves to your face. Another way to achieve this—and illuminate your face at the same time—is with light-coloured frames, which are all the rage these days. Take a page from Demi Moore—she knows how to perfectly balance her square face with her glasses. Play with your angles!
If like Reese Witherspoon you have a heart-shaped face, opt for square or cat eye frames that can help you balance a narrower jaw. Avoid oversized frames that accent the width of your forehead and the narrowness of your lower face. Or if your heart so desires, give small round or oval glasses a try. You’d be right on trend since round glasses are very in right now!
Have an oval face? Then you’re part of the select group who can wear whatever they want—when it comes to glasses, that is! Your face shape is considered “ideal,” so there’s no shortage of options. Be bold and experiment with shapes and colours! Talk to your Opto-Réseau professional—they can help you choose a frame colour that suits your complexion!
